About the Role

As a Cable Assembly Drafter at Amphenol, you will support our Allen, Texas operations by producing accurate technical drawings and documentation for fiber optic cable assemblies. Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, you will help ensure that every design moves smoothly from concept to the production floor, upholding the technical excellence that defines AFSI's reputation in the fiber optic industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed drawings and layouts for fiber optic cable assemblies and related connectivity products.
• Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, bills of materials, and assembly specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to refine designs and resolve drafting questions.
• Apply established drafting standards and conventions to keep documentation consistent and manufacturable.
• Update existing drawings to reflect engineering changes and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with CAD software and mechanical or electromechanical drafting.
• Working knowledge of drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerancing practices.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret engineering input accurately.
• Familiarity with cable assemblies, fiber optics, or related manufacturing is an advantage.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating across engineering and production teams.
• Eligible to work full-time on-site in Allen, Collin County, Texas (this role is not remote).
