About the Role

As a Buyer II with Amentum in Albany County, you will manage day-to-day purchasing activities that support important national programs. Working on site at the NY State Campus, you will partner with project teams and suppliers to ensure goods and services are procured accurately, cost-effectively, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and convert them into accurate purchase orders.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to secure competitive pricing and dependable delivery.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and timelines with vendors while protecting program interests.
• Track open orders, resolve discrepancies, and expedite deliveries when needed.
• Maintain complete, audit-ready procurement records in line with company policy and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to forecast and fulfill purchasing needs.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, consistent with a Buyer II level.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processing, sourcing, and vendor negotiation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
• Comfort with procurement systems and standard office software.
• Eligibility to work on site at the NY State Campus in Albany County (this position is not remote).
