TrueLayer is hiring a Business Intelligence & Automation Lead to join our Strategic Finance team in London, United Kingdom. If you turn messy, scattered data into trusted insight — and reach for modern automation and AI to do it faster — this role is built for you. About the Role This is a pivotal, full-time position for a self-starter who spots opportunities before a brief lands. As our Business Intelligence & Automation Lead, you'll be the connective tissue between raw data and real decisions, partnering with teams from Engineering to Commercial. You'll design systems independently, question assumptions, and build the financial intelligence infrastructure that helps TrueLayer move quickly and decide wisely. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Core Data and Engineering to shape and extend finance data models, building production-grade tables that sit cleanly within our data warehouse. Own and grow the Strategic Finance reporting layer in Looker, retiring brittle spreadsheets in favour of scalable, self-serve dashboards. Run deep exploratory analysis to define performance metrics, unit economics, margin leakage, and operational cohorts. Automate month-end deliverables end to end, removing manual MoM and YoY FP&A cycles. Build real-time tracking for OpEx and headcount spend against budget, and automate cash management pipelines tied into strategic forecasting. Apply AI tools such as Dust AI to generate financial commentary, executive summaries, and high-frequency data synthesis. Create investor reporting frameworks and lead data ingestion and normalisation during corporate development or acquisitions, while safeguarding sensitive financial data. Qualifications Strong background in a BI, data, or finance analytics role; experience in VC, investment, or acquisitions settings is a plus. Advanced SQL, writing production-ready queries that clean, transform, and map complex datasets. Solid grasp of the modern data stack, including data warehousing and dbt workflows. Hands-on Looker experience (LookML, views, explores) and practical use of generative AI and automation tools to build, not just experiment. Bonus: Python for pipelines and modelling, software engineering practices (Git, AWS), acquisition support, mentoring or people management, and financial literacy across revenue, OpEx, and capital allocation. A systems thinker who is comfortable in ambiguity, naturally curious, high-ownership, and confident working cross-functionally. About TrueLayer TrueLayer is…
