Calhoun County Public School District is hiring a dependable, safety-focused Bus Driver to transport students throughout the district, operating out of our District Administrative Office in the United States.
About the Role
As a full-time Bus Driver with Calhoun County Public School District, you will be responsible for safely getting students to and from school each day. This on-site position is ideal for a reliable, community-minded professional who takes pride in protecting the well-being of young passengers and supporting the daily operations of our schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes, picking up and dropping off students on schedule.
- Follow all federal, state, and district transportation regulations and traffic laws.
- Maintain order and ensure appropriate student conduct while on board.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies, adverse weather, and changing road conditions.
- Keep accurate records and communicate effectively with school staff, students, and families.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with the appropriate commercial endorsement to operate a school bus (or willingness to obtain).
- Clean driving record and the ability to pass required background checks and screenings.
- Strong commitment to student safety, punctuality, and dependability.
- Patience and good judgment when working with children of varying ages.
- Ability to remain alert and focused throughout each route.
