Building Services Director

The Duluth YMCA is hiring a full-time Building Services Director in Duluth, Saint Louis County — an on-site leadership role for a hands-on facilities professional who takes pride in keeping community spaces safe, clean, and welcoming.

About the Role

As the Building Services Director at the Duluth YMCA, you will oversee the upkeep, maintenance, and operational readiness of branch facilities. Reporting directly to the Branch Executive, this full-time, non-exempt position puts you at the center of daily building operations, ensuring members and staff enjoy a well-maintained environment every day. To welcome the right candidate, the Duluth YMCA offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus, payable after six months of qualified employment and the successful completion of Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the general maintenance, cleanliness, and overall condition of YMCA buildings and grounds in Duluth.
• Manage routine and preventive upkeep of facility systems, equipment, and aquatic areas.
• Support safe pool operations in line with Certified Pool Operator (CPO) standards.
• Coordinate building services tasks and schedules to keep spaces ready for members and programs.
• Partner with the Branch Executive and team members to address facility needs promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services, facilities maintenance, or a closely related field.
• Willingness to obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification (required to receive the sign-on bonus).
• Strong organizational skills and a practical, problem-solving approach to facility upkeep.
• Availability to work on-site in Duluth, Saint Louis County, in a full-time capacity.
