About the Role

As a Budget Analyst with the City of Galveston, you will work under limited supervision to support the development and ongoing management of the City's annual operating budget, capital improvement program, and long-range financial strategy. You will partner closely with the Budget Manager and Senior Budget Analyst, contributing analysis and support on assignments that keep municipal finances sound and transparent.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building and administering the City of Galveston's yearly operating budget.
• Support preparation of the capital improvement plan and the City's long-range financial forecast.
• Provide budgetary analysis and reporting to the Budget Manager and Senior Budget Analyst as directed.
• Help monitor spending, revenues, and budget performance across municipal departments.
• Contribute to financial planning tasks that promote responsible stewardship of public funds.

Qualifications

• A solid foundation in budgeting, accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline.
