Progressive Option Support Services
Join Progressive Option Support Services as a Behavior Technician (BT) providing in-home autism support services in Ocean, Monmouth County, NJ. This is a part-time position where you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families by delivering evidence-based behavior intervention in their homes.
About the Role
As a Behavior Technician, you'll work directly with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and therapeutic interventions under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Your primary focus will be supporting children's development, skill-building, and behavioral progress through consistent, individualized care delivered in the home environment.
What You'll Do
- Implement therapeutic ABA strategies and behavior intervention plans as outlined by supervising clinicians
- Work one-on-one with children in their homes, building rapport and creating supportive learning experiences
- Monitor and track client progress, documenting behavioral data and session observations
- Reinforce positive behaviors and employ evidence-based techniques to address behavioral challenges
- Communicate regularly with families, clinical supervisors, and care coordinators
- Maintain detailed, accurate session notes and progress records
- Travel between client homes within Monmouth County as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or certification preferred
- Genuine passion for working with children, particularly those with autism
- Ability to follow clinical protocols and implement behavior plans with consistency
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and families
- Reliability, punctuality, and professional demeanor
- Flexibility to work with various age groups and behavioral needs
- Valid driver's license and transportation to in-home client locations
- Willingness to pursue RBT certification (BACB) after hire, if not already certified
