Backup Engineer

Role Summary

We are hiring an L2 Backup Engineer to design, operate, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery

platforms — covering virtual, physical, database, application, and cloud workloads with a clean DR posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate enterprise backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Cohesity).
• Design and implement backup policies, SLAs (RPO/RTO), and retention.
• Run daily backup health checks; resolve failures within SLA.
• Restore-test critical systems on schedule; document outcomes.
• Operate replication, immutability, and air-gapped copies (3-2-1 / 3-2-1-1-0).
• Support DR drills and post-drill report-outs.
• Coordinate with storage, virtualization, and DBA teams on backup integrations.

Required Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent.

• 4+ years operating enterprise backup platforms in production.
• Strong with at least one of: Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Cohesity.
• Hands-on with VMware / Hyper-V backup and database backup (SQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with deduplication appliances (DataDomain, HPE StoreOnce).

– Scripting in PowerShell or Python.

– Professional English — mandatory.

Preferred / Nice to Have

– Working knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

• Vendor certifications (Veeam VMCE, Commvault Master, NetBackup Admin).
• Cloud backup (Azure Backup, AWS Backup) experience.

– Tape library + LTO operations.
