About the Role In this position, you'll provide comprehensive legal guidance on commercial equipment financing matters, working closely with our finance, credit, and business teams. You'll manage the full lifecycle of equipment finance transactions—from initial structure review through closing and ongoing compliance—ensuring all deals meet regulatory requirements and Truist's legal standards. What You'll Do Draft, review, and negotiate equipment finance agreements, security agreements, and related transaction documents Conduct legal due diligence on equipment finance transactions, including collateral analysis and lien searches Advise internal teams on commercial law issues affecting equipment finance products and customer relationships Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations, UCC requirements, and Truist policies Support credit decisions by identifying legal risks and structuring solutions Partner with finance professionals, customers, and external counsel to resolve transaction issues and close deals efficiently Maintain accurate transaction documentation and legal records What We're Looking For Juris Doctor (J.D.) and admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state Demonstrated experience in commercial equipment finance, asset-based lending, or related commercial law practice Strong knowledge of UCC secured transactions, equipment finance documentation, and commercial lending structures Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly Detail-oriented approach with ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across business and credit teams Proficiency with legal research tools and document management systems About Truist Truist is a leading financial services company serving clients across the United States.
