Attorney

Toeppich & Associates, PLLC is seeking a full-time Attorney to join its Houston, Texas office — a recognized leader in energy transactional law serving clients across the oil, gas, natural resources, and renewable energy sectors.

About the Role

This Attorney position sits at the intersection of traditional and emerging energy law. You will work alongside experienced counsel on a wide range of transactional matters serving upstream, midstream, and downstream clients, as well as companies operating in the renewable energy space. The role is based on-site in Houston and offers meaningful exposure to complex deals that shape the energy industry.

What You'll Do

• Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents including purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, and surface use agreements
• Conduct and oversee due diligence for oil, gas, and energy asset acquisitions and divestitures
• Advise clients on title examination, curative matters, and leasing issues related to oil, gas, and mineral interests
• Support transactions involving renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and related infrastructure
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal counsel on energy matters
• Manage client relationships and communicate legal analysis clearly to both legal and non-legal audiences

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Texas, or eligibility for admission
• Experience in energy transactional law, oil and gas law, or a closely related area of practice
• Working knowledge of oil and gas contracts, title analysis, and mineral rights
• Familiarity with renewable energy transactions is a plus
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
