Join Nagarro as an Associate Staff Engineer, Workday HCM Functional Consultant (L1 Support), delivering first-line technical support for Workday Human Capital Management systems across our India operations. This is a full-time position supporting US-based business hours during the 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST shift. The Opportunity This role sits at the intersection of HR systems and technical support, where your Workday expertise directly impacts how thousands of end users manage their human capital processes. You'll be the first responder for functional issues across Core HCM, Staffing, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Security, Business Processes, and Reporting. Your work includes diagnosing configuration gaps, validating data integrity, managing user access, and owning the entire support lifecycle from ticket intake through either resolution or escalation to senior teams. You'll also help shape how Workday evolves within our organization by documenting processes, maintaining knowledge repositories, and recommending system improvements. Core Duties Respond to and resolve level-one functional support tickets for Workday HCM, meeting SLA commitments and prioritizing by business impact Diagnose and troubleshoot issues spanning Core HCM modules, staffing workflows, compensation plans, payroll cycles, benefits administration, system security, inbound data integrations, and custom reporting Execute configuration updates, apply patches, and support routine maintenance in production environments Partner with HR departments, business users, and IT infrastructure teams to gather context, analyze root causes, and implement sustainable fixes Administer Workday security, manage user provisioning, and oversee access control and audit trails Perform root-cause analysis on recurring issues and escalate complex problems to L2 and L3 engineering teams with detailed findings Participate in testing, validation, and deployment cycles for system updates, enhancements, and configuration rollouts Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and user-facing guides Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning Who We're Looking For 4 or more years of professional experience, with substantial hands-on involvement in Workday HCM L1 or L1.5 functional support Deep working knowledge of Workday HCM architecture, including Core HCM, Staffing, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Security, Business Processes, and Reporting modules Proven ability to troubleshoot Workday user incidents, inbound EIB (Enterprise Inbound) integrations, security access requests, business…
