Engine Ventures is seeking a driven, analytically-minded Associate to join our investment team in Cambridge, Middlesex County, and help identify the founders and frontier technologies shaping the decades ahead.
About the Role
As an Associate at Engine Ventures, you will sit at the heart of an early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to backing the foundational technologies that will redefine entire industries. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cambridge, Middlesex County, offering deep exposure to deal sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support across some of the most ambitious sectors in deep tech.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate early-stage investment opportunities across compute, artificial intelligence, energy systems, advanced manufacturing, robotics, biology, and infrastructure.
- Conduct thorough market research, technical assessment, and financial analysis to support the investment team's decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with founders, researchers, and operators working on category-defining businesses.
- Assist with due diligence processes, from initial screening through to investment recommendations.
- Provide ongoing support to portfolio companies as they scale.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and research capabilities, with the ability to assess complex technical and scientific concepts.
- Genuine enthusiasm for frontier technologies and emerging industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work on-site in Cambridge, Middlesex County.
