About the Role

As Associate Director, Site Operations, you will steer the Operations department for Kilowatt Events while owning the on-site execution of some of our largest and most intricate productions. This is a full-time, exempt position based in Ocean Beach, San Diego County, with a strong focus on site planning, temporary build-out, and the strategic design that guides how thousands of attendees move through a venue.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and develop the Operations department, setting standards and priorities across the team.
• Serve as the operational lead on our biggest and most logistically demanding events.
• Shape detailed site plans that balance functionality, safety, and guest experience.
• Oversee temporary construction and infrastructure builds from concept through teardown.
• Engineer crowd flow and circulation to keep large gatherings safe and efficient.
• Apply strategic design thinking to layout, access, and overall site footprint.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership managing operations teams and complex, large-scale live events.
• Hands-on expertise in site planning and temporary event construction.
• Strong command of crowd-flow principles and strategic spatial design.
• Sharp problem-solving instincts and the ability to perform under live-event pressure.
• Willingness to work on-site in Ocean Beach, San Diego County (this is not a remote role).
