Associate Banker

Bank of Montreal (BMO) is hiring a part-time Associate Banker at its La Jolla branch, located at 4180 La Jolla Village Dr. in San Diego County — an opportunity to build meaningful client relationships inside one of North America's leading financial institutions.

About the Role

As an Associate Banker at BMO La Jolla, you'll be on the front line of the branch experience, guiding customers through their financial journey and connecting them with solutions that genuinely fit their needs. You'll collaborate closely with branch teammates and internal BMO partners across multiple service channels to ensure every interaction reflects BMO's commitment to client-first banking.

What You'll Do

• Engage walk-in customers and prospects with a consultative approach, uncovering financial goals and recommending appropriate banking products and services
• Process day-to-day transactions — including deposits, withdrawals, and account maintenance — with accuracy and efficiency
• Open and service personal and small-business accounts, including checking, savings, and term deposit products
• Generate referrals to BMO specialists in areas such as lending, wealth management, and business banking
• Support branch sales and service targets while upholding full compliance with applicable banking regulations and BMO policies
• Represent BMO's brand professionally during every customer-facing interaction, in person and through assisted service channels

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in customer service, retail, or a client-facing sales environment — banking experience is a plus
• Genuine interest in helping people make sound financial decisions
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
• Comfort working in a goal-oriented, team-based branch setting
• Solid numerical aptitude and attention to detail when handling transactions
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business or finance is an asset
• Bilingual skills are an advantage given the diverse San Diego County community
