About the Role
As an Art Teacher with Westfield Public Schools, you will guide elementary students through a hands-on, standards-aligned art program. This is an in-person, full-time position based in Westfield, Hampden County, and may include assignments across more than one school site within the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction in core artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, design, lettering, and crafts.
- Introduce students to art history, commercial art, and three-dimensional art forms in age-appropriate ways.
- Build foundational creative skills and techniques tailored to elementary learners.
- Work under the guidance of district administrators to support curriculum goals and classroom objectives.
- Adapt teaching across multiple school locations as assigned by the district.
Qualifications
- Appropriate certification and qualifications to teach elementary art in Massachusetts public schools.
- Knowledge of a broad range of art media, methods, and history suitable for young students.
- Ability to create an inclusive, encouraging classroom that fosters confidence and imagination.
- Flexibility to teach at more than one elementary location when needed.
