Monks is seeking an Art Director to join their APAC Hub team, based remotely in Kuala Lumpur, to support AUNZ and wider APAC markets. The role involves conceptual thinking, art direction, and creative leadership, with a focus on emerging technologies and technology-enabled workflows. The successful candidate will have 6-8 years of experience in design, campaigns, branding, social, and digital creative environments, and a strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and high-level craft execution.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience across design, campaigns, branding, social, and digital creative environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, art direction, and high-level craft execution.
  • High proficiency across Figma, Google Slides, and the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, integrated campaigns, social-first storytelling, and motion-aware design.
  • Ability to guide designers and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluent English proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of creative systems, scalability, and production workflows.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in fast-moving environments.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and emerging technologies such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Firefly, Runway, Veo, Figma AI, or similar platforms.
