What You'll Do Manage the full appeals lifecycle, from claim denial review through resolution, following payer-specific timelines and requirements Interpret and apply hospital contracts and payer policies to determine coverage eligibility and appropriate reimbursement Monitor timely filing deadlines and retro-authorization windows to maximize claim recovery and minimize denials Collaborate with revenue cycle, clinical, and compliance departments to gather supporting documentation and clinical justification for appeals Track and report on appeal status, resolution rates, and trends to identify process improvements Communicate with patients and providers regarding claim status, payment applications, and payment options Maintain detailed records and audit trails for all appeals activity to ensure compliance with payer requirements and regulatory standards What We're Looking For 1–3 years of experience in healthcare billing, claims processing, or patient financial services Strong understanding of insurance payer policies, contract terms, and appeals procedures Proficiency with healthcare billing systems and electronic health record (EHR) software Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal coordination and external payer contact Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict compliance deadlines Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn complex billing regulations About Memorial Health Memorial Health is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering quality care and financial support to patients in Marysville and Union County.
