As an Admissions Counselor at Furman University, you will serve as a front-line ambassador for the institution, connecting with applicants, families, and school counselors across South Main, Orange County, and beyond. Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and counsel prospective students, answering questions about programs, campus life, and the application process.
- Represent Furman University at college fairs, high school visits, and on-campus events.
- Review and assess applications as part of the admissions decision process.
- Build lasting relationships with students, parents, and school counselors throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Lead information sessions and contribute to outreach and yield initiatives.
- Maintain accurate applicant records and communicate updates in a timely, professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfort speaking to groups and connecting one-on-one with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing applications and records.
- Willingness to travel and to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak recruitment seasons.
- A valid driver's license and the flexibility this role's travel demands require.
