This is a full-time, remote role based in Illinois for a seasoned public sector sales leader. About the Role As the Account Director – SLED Midwest, you will own and expand a portfolio of strategic SLED accounts while opening fresh pipeline across untapped territory. Drawing on your command of the Midwest public sector landscape, sharp analytical thinking, and persuasive communication, you'll help organizations adopt Recorded Future's intelligence solutions in inventive ways that deliver real results — accelerating our fast-expanding public sector business. Key Responsibilities Generate new business through proactive outreach, referrals, and channel partner relationships, leading discovery sessions that map client cybersecurity priorities to our solutions. Nurture and grow current accounts by surfacing renewal, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities while building relationships across technical and executive stakeholders. Partner with cross-functional teams to safeguard customer success and reduce churn. Run the full sales cycle — qualification, proposals, presentations, negotiation support, and closing — keeping pipeline and activity data current in Salesforce and Clari for reliable forecasting. Travel up to 50% across the Midwest to engage prospects, customers, and partners. Deepen your grasp of cybersecurity trends, our offerings, and competitors by attending industry events and representing the Recorded Future brand. Qualifications BA/BS degree or a comparable mix of education and professional experience. 8+ years of quota-carrying software sales, including 4+ years selling into the SLED market and to C-Suite buyers. Demonstrated success selling to Midwest public sector accounts; cybersecurity sales background strongly preferred. A consistent record of exceeding quota, paired with entrepreneurial drive and creative solution selling. Excellent written, presentation, and closing skills, plus comfort engaging senior executives. Self-motivated, curious, and detail-oriented, with familiarity using Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, and sales productivity tools. Willingness to travel as needed; ideally residing in IL, OH, MI, WI, MN, MO, IN, IA, KS, or NE.
