A/C & EMS Technician

Brownsville Independent School District is hiring a full-time A/C & EMS Technician in Brownsville, Cameron County to keep school heating, cooling, and energy management systems running reliably for students and staff.

About the Role

As an A/C & EMS Technician with Brownsville Independent School District, you will diagnose, repair, and install air conditioning and Energy Management Systems (EMS) across district facilities in Brownsville, Texas. This hands-on, on-site position is ideal for an experienced HVAC professional who takes pride in maintaining comfortable, efficient learning environments throughout Cameron County.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and installations on air conditioning and Energy Management Systems equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and control issues to keep climate systems operating efficiently.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Travel between district sites as needed using district or personal transportation.
• Follow EPA and safety standards in all refrigerant handling and system work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) in English.
• Three (3) years of related experience in A/C and EMS repairs and installations.
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification.
• A valid Texas Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
