988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is seeking a 988 Director to provide senior leadership for Rhode Island's crisis intervention services in East Providence, Providence County. This high-visibility, full-time on-site role offers the chance to shape behavioral health systems and strengthen community access to lifesaving crisis support.
About the Role
As 988 Director, you will guide the strategic and operational direction of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline program in Rhode Island. Working through a partnership between The Hire and Community Care Alliance, this leadership position places you at the center of crisis response, where your decisions help drive meaningful, systems-level change across behavioral health.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations and long-term strategy of the 988 crisis line program in East Providence.
- Champion best practices in crisis intervention and behavioral health service delivery.
- Advance systems-level initiatives that improve outcomes for individuals experiencing mental health and suicidal crises.
- Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and clinical teams to ensure responsive, high-quality care.
- Provide visible, accountable leadership across the behavioral health organization.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience within behavioral health, crisis services, or a closely related field.
- Genuine commitment to crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and improving access to care.
- Proven ability to drive organizational and systems-level change.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working across multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
- Availability to work full-time, on-site in East Providence, Providence County (this role is not remote).
