About the Role
As a 2027 Summer Associate in Jackson Lewis's Austin office, you will spend your summer immersed in the day-to-day practice of one of the nation's leading workplace law firms. This is a hands-on program designed to give you meaningful exposure to client work, mentorship from experienced attorneys, and a realistic preview of life as an associate at a firm dedicated exclusively to the relationship between employers and their people.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on employment and labor law matters.
- Assist attorneys in drafting workplace policies, client correspondence, and case materials.
- Support the development of proactive, business-minded strategies for employer clients.
- Participate in case teams, client meetings, and firm training under attorney supervision.
- Contribute to projects that address how evolving workplace law intersects with business operations.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited J.D. program and on track for a 2027 summer placement.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in employment and labor law or related practice areas.
- Ability to work on-site in the Austin, Travis County office throughout the program.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach and genuine enthusiasm for client-focused work.
