TheOpportunity

NMF’s Marketing & Communications team islooking for a motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to join us forSummer 2026, with the potential to continue with us through the fall, as webuild toward our 80th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend in October.

This role is for someonewho thrives at the intersection of storytelling, digital content, andorganization — someone who wants real responsibility, not busy work. You willwork directly with NMF’s fractional Chief Marketing Officer and contribute to livecampaigns, active social channels, and communications infrastructure that willshape NMF’s next chapter.

WhatYou Will Do

Content & Social Media

  • Support NMF’s Instagramand LinkedIn pages — monitoring comments, engaging followers, and maintaining aconsistent brand voice
  • Draft and schedulesocial content in HeyOrca in alignment with the campaign calendar and contentthemes
  • Flag emerging trends,follower interactions, and engagement opportunities for the broader team

NMF Story Bank

  • Support the developmentof NMF’s Story Bank — a growinglibrary of scholar, alumni, and stakeholder narratives that powercommunications across channels
  • Conduct outreach toscholars and alumni to gather story submissions; coordinate the #MYNMFStory UGCcampaign
  • Organize, tag, andmaintain story assets so they are accessible and ready for use across email,social, and event content

Shared Drive &Operations

  • Audit and reorganize theMarCom shared Google Drive — establishing a clear, logical folder structure andconsistent labeling conventions
  • Build and maintain asimple asset index so the team can locate brand materials, campaign content,and approved copy quickly
  • Support file managementand version control as new content is produced

General MarCom Support

  • Assist with drafting andediting copy for email newsletters, event promotions, and campaign materials
  • Support special projectstied to the 80th Anniversary campaign as needs arise

Requirements

WhoThis Is For

  • A current undergraduateor graduate student, or recent graduate, with a focus in communications,marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • Someone with a genuineinterest in healthcare, nonprofit work, or social impact
  • A strong writer whocommunicates clearly and adapts tone across platforms
  • Organized andself-directed — comfortable managing multiple tasks in a remote environment
  • Familiar with Instagramand LinkedIn as professional platforms
  • Proficiency in SocialMedia Tools (IG, Reels), WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite preferred; experiencewith Canva, Google Workspace, or social scheduling tools is a plus

Compensation& Schedule

This is a part-time (maximumof 25 hours/week), remote position. $3,600 stipend to be provided for thesummer (8 weeks). Payable ininstallments: $1,200 at completion of week 2, $1,200 at completion of week 5,and $1,200 at completion of week 8 and the return of applicable equipmentand/or deliverables.

Candidates must havereliable internet access and availability during standard business hours forteam meetings and check-ins.
