We are currently searching for a Windows Desktop Migration Engineer:
Responsibilities:
- Execute user migrations following a standardized factory playbook, tracking progress and outcomes meticulously.
- Validate end-user functionality on new Azure-hosted desktops, including M365 Suite, internal business apps, and web tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues end-to-end across Windows environments and application configurations.
- Perform application testing, including defect reproduction and regression checks, before and after migration.
- Coordinate technical fixes with partner teams while communicating clearly with users in trading, engineering, and senior management.
- Provide structured reporting on assigned workloads, specifically identifying risks, blockers, and migration status.
- Write clear technical notes and user updates to manage expectations and drive issue closure.
Requirements:
- 5 to 8 years of overall IT experience, with at least 3 years specifically in Windows desktop migrations.
- Strong familiarity with Windows desktop environments and application behavior troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in cloud connectivity (Azure preferred) and access management, including core networking concepts.
- Coding proficiency in Python or Java for automation and diagnostics.
- Strong debugging and problem isolation skills, utilizing logs, configurations, and reproduction steps.
- Solid application testing knowledge, including test design and a regression mindset.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
- Strong personal project management to handle high-volume user queues and accurate reporting.
Desired:
- Prior application development experience (building, supporting, or modernizing apps).
- Knowledge of AI-assisted troubleshooting or advanced automation concepts.
- Experience working in high-pressure environments (e.g., Financial Services or Trading).
Languages
- Advanced Oral English.
- Advanced Spanish.
