Job Title: National Sales Manager, Fire
Reports to: Commercial Director and Country Leader, USA
Pay range: $175,000-$220,000
Location: Remote, USA
Job Summary:
The National Sales Manager, Fire, will lead the marketing and sale of Armstrong branded fire products throughout the US market. This position is home-based, with frequent travel throughout the USA. In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:
Develop Sales Representative Network
- Identify and hire Tier 1 and Tier 2 sales representatives in each major market
- Ensure reps are fully onboarded and trained in Armstrong products and services
- Constantly evaluate and source new rep agencies
- Develops, trains, motivates, and supervises the distribution network in the region
Business Development
- Collaborate with the national sales team to identify and pursue new opportunities
- Work with industrial design consultants to develop new applications such as; oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining, refining, natural gas
- Design Envelope Fire solution acceptance by design, construct, and approval authorities, such as: FIRE Marshals, Insurance underwriters, service and test organizations
- Identify and develop other new sectors that require strategic leveraging points to be engaged that would be outside of the normal sales cycle and regional sale distribution planning
Sales Management
- Set and work towards annual sales targets for bookings, shipments and margin
- Manage the proposal and quotation process in conjunction with technical expertise in the Regional Sales Enablement Center
- Manage sales expenses within the budget
Marketing and Industry Relations
- Participate and represent Armstrong in the fire industry through presence in industry events, webinars, trade shows and other vehicles
- Work with Marketing and Communications to identify opportunities to improve our market presence including online materials, collateral and public speaking opportunities
- Assists in the training and development of all channels of distribution on a broad range of sales and marketing topics such as: product feature and benefit presentations, technical presentations, fundamental selling skills, public speaking, computer training, ACE selection software
Role Requirements
- University Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; a master’s in business administration is preferred
- 10 Years of demonstrated success in business development, sales and/or marketing leadership in product/service delivery to commercial/institutional/industrial customers
- Hands on experience in national account development and management
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Extensive knowledge of the design requirements and design intent of today’s fire safety systems
- 10+ years of professional sales and sales management experience within the fire protection and life safety industry
- Strong knowledge of the Fire Safety codes, code development process, local approvals (site, and field)
- Strong competitive knowledge of the fire safety industry participants for both our direct and indirect competitors as viewed from a fire safety perspective
- Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures)
- Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations.
- Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
- Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
- Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
Salary: $175,000-$220,000
