The Global Service & Support segment of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Life Sciences Group has an exciting opportunity to expand the reach of our service contract offerings and help drive revenue growth within our division.

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will meet or exceed a defined sales plan of service contracts and support plans and proactively uncover new opportunities within assigned accounts to generate revenue growth.

A Day in the Life:

Identify, develop, and close service sales opportunities within the assigned territory, including contract renewals and new business growth. Make proactive outbound customer calls and use email and video communication to engage decision-makers and influencers across customer accounts. Understand customer needs, workflows, and competitive dynamics to position value-added service solutions effectively. Partner with Product Sales, Service Management, and other internal teams to align customer strategies and maximize service revenue opportunities. Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, customer records, territory plans, and forecasts using relevant sales tools and data sources. Participate in sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, training, and special projects to support business growth and continuous improvement.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a quota-carrying sales role, ideally in inside sales, service sales, telesales, or business development.
  • Experience within Life Sciences, laboratory environments, or service contracts is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote sales environment while managing priorities, timelines, and customer activities effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to identify opportunities, prioritize accounts, and support accurate forecasting.
  • Results-oriented approach with motivation to achieve sales targets and contribute to team success.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and position value-added service solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and very good proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in an additional European language, particularly Polish or another Central European language, is considered an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage sales activities, pipeline, customer records, and forecasts effectively.
  • Comfortable leveraging digital tools, data analytics, and AI-based solutions to improve productivity and sales effectiveness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP and Power BI is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% within the assigned territory as required.
