Field Electrical Power Engineer

Guarantee Electrical is hiring a Field Electrical Power Engineer to lead technical oversight of critical electrical infrastructure in Saint Louis, Saint Louis County. You'll design, specify, and manage complex electrical power systems that serve industrial and commercial clients throughout the region.

About the Role

In this Field Electrical Power Engineer position, you'll own the complete technical scope of electrical power projects. From initial design through field implementation, you'll ensure every system is engineered to the highest standards, fully compliant with code, and optimized for safety and performance.

What You'll Do

• Direct all phases of electrical power systems projects, managing design validation and field execution
• Develop and review one-line drawings and electrical schematics for accuracy and standards compliance
• Perform short circuit studies and create coordination drawings to protect equipment and personnel
• Conduct arc flash hazard assessments and oversee compliance labeling on switchgear and control equipment
• Specify medium voltage systems, circuit breakers, relays, and protection devices
• Design grounding systems and overcurrent protection schemes to prevent faults and ensure safety
• Ensure NEC code compliance and adherence to all applicable electrical standards and regulations
• Work on-site to coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
• Collaborate with contractors, clients, and internal teams to deliver technical solutions

What We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligible to obtain one
• Demonstrated experience in electrical power systems design and field engineering
• In-depth knowledge of NEC standards, electrical codes, and power system protection principles
• Expertise with one-line drawings, electrical design software, and coordination study tools
• Hands-on experience with switchgear, medium voltage systems, and short circuit analysis
• Strong technical foundation in grounding, relays, and overcurrent protection
• Ability to work effectively in field environments and manage on-site engineering activities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
