Security Captain

Sesame Place Philadelphia, a Sea World Entertainment park in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, is hiring a full-time Security Captain to lead frontline safety operations and help create a secure, welcoming environment for every guest and team member who walks through our gates.

About the Role

As Security Captain at Sesame Place Philadelphia, you will be the operational backbone of our park's daily security program. You'll direct a team of security professionals, coordinate incident response, and uphold the safety standards that make our park a trusted destination for families across the region. This is a hands-on leadership position — you won't be watching from the sidelines.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and direct daily security operations throughout the park, ensuring consistent coverage across all areas
• Supervise, coach, and support security staff during assigned shifts, providing real-time guidance and performance feedback
• Respond promptly to guest and employee incidents, disturbances, or emergencies, taking command until resolution
• Conduct and document thorough incident reports, maintaining accurate records for review
• Coordinate with park management, medical staff, and local law enforcement agencies as situations require
• Lead crowd management efforts during peak attendance periods, special events, and emergency evacuations
• Enforce park policies and procedures consistently and professionally across all guest-facing interactions
• Train and develop security ambassadors, reinforcing best practices in safety, de-escalation, and customer service
• Perform regular patrols of park grounds, rides, and facilities to identify and address safety concerns proactively

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in a security supervisory or captain role, preferably in a high-traffic venue, theme park, or entertainment environment
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to direct a team calmly under pressure
• Excellent verbal communication and conflict de-escalation skills
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, accurate incident documentation
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions across an active, fast-paced environment
• Genuine commitment to guest safety and delivering a positive park experience
• Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by park operations
• Valid Pennsylvania security licensure or ability to obtain one as required
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
