About the Role
As a Journeyman Lineman based in Belleville, you will perform a full scope of overhead line construction and maintenance work for Ameren Illinois. Working under general supervision rather than constant oversight, you will be trusted to apply your trade knowledge independently to build, repair, and maintain the electric distribution and transmission infrastructure that serves more than 1,200 communities throughout the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the complete range of overhead line construction, installation, and maintenance tasks expected of a qualified journeyman.
- Operate with direct but not continuous supervision, exercising sound judgment in the field.
- Restore, repair, and upgrade electric distribution and transmission equipment to keep service reliable.
- Follow established safety standards and procedures to protect yourself, your crew, and the public.
- Support dependable energy delivery to Ameren Illinois customers across the Belleville area and the wider service territory.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Lineman status with proven experience in overhead electric line work.
- Working knowledge of distribution and transmission line construction and maintenance practices.
- Strong commitment to safe work habits and adherence to industry safety protocols.
- Ability to perform demanding physical field work and to function effectively with limited direct supervision.
- Willingness to work on-site in Belleville, Saint Clair County, as a full-time team member.
