WQAD-TV, the ABC affiliate serving the Quad Cities, is searching for a versatile Multi-Skilled Journalist (MSJ) and Anchor to join TEGNA in Davenport, Scott County. In this on-air role, you will report, produce, and present the local stories that keep our communities informed and connected.

About the Role

As an MSJ/Anchor at WQAD-TV in Davenport, you will wear two hats: anchoring newscasts with poise and credibility, while also working independently in the field as a multi-skilled journalist. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and is passionate about serving local audiences across television, web, mobile, and streaming platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Anchor live newscasts, delivering accurate and engaging coverage to Quad Cities viewers.
• Report, write, shoot, and edit your own stories as a multi-skilled journalist in the field.
• Develop sources and pursue original, community-focused story ideas.
• Adapt content for broadcast, digital, mobile, and streaming distribution.
• Collaborate with producers, photographers, and the news team to meet daily deadlines.
• Cover breaking news and live events with professionalism and sound editorial judgment.

Qualifications

• Proven on-air anchoring and reporting experience, ideally in a local television market.
• Strong writing, storytelling, and live-presentation skills.
• Ability to operate as a self-sufficient MSJ, handling your own shooting and editing.
• Solid news judgment and a commitment to accurate, ethical journalism.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and breaking-news situations.
• Based in or able to relocate to the Davenport, Scott County area, as this is an on-site role.
