Construction Litigator

Bardsley Law, LLC is seeking a full-time Construction Litigator to join our Berwyn, Cook County team, where law is practiced as an honorable profession rooted in collegiality, mentorship, and respect.

About the Role

As a Construction Litigator at Bardsley Law, LLC, you will manage construction-related disputes from intake through resolution, representing clients in matters that demand both technical command of the law and sound professional judgment. This is an on-site, full-time position based in Berwyn, Illinois, offering the chance to grow within a firm that treats civility and mentoring as cornerstones of how it serves a wide range of clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle construction litigation matters, including contract disputes, defect claims, payment and lien issues, and related commercial disagreements.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents with precision and clarity.
• Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial as the matter requires.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy in collaboration with colleagues.
• Communicate proactively with clients to understand their needs and keep them informed throughout each matter.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Illinois, or eligibility for admission.
• Experience or a demonstrated interest in construction litigation or general civil litigation.
• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• A collaborative, professional approach consistent with a firm that values mentorship and civility.
