About the Role

As a Standards Drafting Technician based on-site in Adel, Dallas County, you will turn raw field information, manufacturer specifications, and engineering instructions into clear technical data files, diagrams, and construction-ready drawings. Working within computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems, you will help Berkshire Hathaway Energy maintain a reliable, well-organized library of standards documentation that engineers, field crews, and project teams depend on every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop technical data files, drawings, and diagrams using details gathered from the field.
• Build documents in CAD software by interpreting manufacturer drawings and written engineering guidance.
• Revise, update, and correct existing data files and drawings as standards and field conditions change.
• Organize and maintain accurate records of completed drawings and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering staff to confirm that drafted materials reflect current specifications and requirements.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computer-aided drafting (CAD) tools and standard drafting practices.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturer drawings, field notes, and engineering instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in technical documentation.
• Solid organizational skills for managing and maintaining drawing files and records.
• Willingness to work on-site in Adel, Dallas County (this is not a remote position).
