Crate Builder/Packer

Standex is hiring a skilled Crate Builder/Packer to join its production team in Belleville, Dane County — a hands-on, full-time role at the heart of our manufacturing operations.

About the Role

As a Crate Builder/Packer at Standex, you will work on the production floor constructing wooden crates and packaging assemblies that support our final product output. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and comfort operating material handling equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and sub-assemble wooden skids and frames in preparation for final assembly
• Secure wood products, laminates, and coverings using nails and/or staples
• Measure, cut, and construct wooden crates to specification
• Transport lumber and materials between storage areas and active production lines using gas- or electric-powered forklifts
• Move materials using hand-operated material handling equipment as needed
• Unload incoming deliveries of crate-making lumber and supplies from trucks

Qualifications

• Experience in a production, carpentry, or general manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to operate powered industrial forklifts (gas and electric); certification a plus
• Comfort working with hand and power tools including nail guns and staplers
• Capacity to perform physically demanding work — standing, lifting, and maneuvering materials throughout the shift
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and a team-oriented work ethic
