Outside Sales Associate

Rust-Oleum Corporation is hiring a full-time Outside Sales Associate based in Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY — a field-facing role built for a driven sales professional ready to represent one of the most recognized brands in protective paints and coatings.

About the Role

As an Outside Sales Associate with Rust-Oleum Corporation, you'll own a defined territory in the greater Syracuse area, building and growing relationships with retail partners, contractors, and commercial accounts. This is a boots-on-the-ground position where your ability to connect with customers, understand their needs, and deliver solutions directly drives your success and the company's growth in Onondaga County and surrounding markets.

What You'll Do

• Manage and develop a dedicated sales territory across the Syracuse region through regular in-person customer visits
• Grow revenue by identifying new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing retail and commercial accounts
• Present and demonstrate Rust-Oleum's product lines to store managers, buyers, and end users
• Ensure optimal product placement, shelf presence, and merchandising standards at retail locations
• Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to execute promotional programs and product launches
• Track account activity, pipeline, and sales results using CRM tools and provide accurate territory forecasts
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers on product selection, application, and performance

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in outside sales, territory sales, or a related field-based sales role
• Strong interpersonal and consultative selling skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
• Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities across diverse customer types
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and standard business productivity tools
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily in-territory travel throughout Syracuse and Onondaga County
• Experience in the paint, coatings, building materials, or home improvement industry is a plus
