Systems Administrator

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is hiring a full-time Systems Administrator to join its team in Salem, Marion County — supporting enterprise infrastructure that powers mission-critical federal operations.

About the Role

As a mid-level Systems Administrator, you will own the day-to-day health and reliability of enterprise servers and services operating within a secure federal environment. This position blends steady-state infrastructure support with targeted design and improvement projects, giving you the opportunity to both maintain high availability and drive meaningful technical progress.

What You'll Do

• Build, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers supporting government applications and services
• Administer virtualization platforms to ensure efficient resource allocation and system reliability
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, OS, and application-layer issues to minimize downtime
• Apply and enforce security controls, patches, and configuration baselines in compliance with federal standards
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability across the enterprise environment
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives, including small-scale design and upgrade projects
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical operations and service continuity

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux (RHEL, CentOS, or equivalent) in an enterprise environment
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Working knowledge of security hardening practices and government-standard security controls
• Strong troubleshooting skills across server hardware, operating systems, and hosted applications
• Experience with patch management, backup solutions, and system monitoring tools
• Ability to operate effectively within a secure, compliance-driven federal IT environment
• Clear, organized communication skills for documentation and cross-team coordination
