Northrop Grumman is hiring a full-time Systems Software Analyst – Level 4 based in Colorado Springs, Colorado (El Paso County), where you'll contribute to mission-critical defense and national security programs that shape the future of aerospace and defense technology.
About the Role
As a senior-level Systems Software Analyst at Northrop Grumman's Colorado Springs site, you'll apply deep technical expertise to complex software systems supporting some of the most advanced defense platforms in the world. This position requires an active Secret clearance at the time of start, and involves up to 10% travel. No relocation assistance is available for this opening.
What You'll Do
- Analyze, design, develop, and maintain software systems for large-scale defense and government programs
- Decompose high-level system requirements into detailed software specifications and design artifacts
- Lead and support software integration, verification, and validation activities across the full development lifecycle
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware leads, and program managers to ensure software solutions meet mission requirements
- Identify technical risks and drive resolution through sound engineering judgment and root-cause analysis
- Author and review technical documentation, test plans, and software architecture artifacts
- Mentor junior and mid-level analysts and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Support configuration management practices and ensure compliance with applicable software engineering standards
What We're Looking For
- Active Secret clearance (required prior to day one)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- Significant experience in systems software analysis or software engineering within a defense, aerospace, or government contracting environment
- Proficiency with requirements management tools and systems engineering methodologies (e.g., Model-Based Systems Engineering)
- Strong background in software development lifecycles, including Agile and/or waterfall frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts and communicate clearly with both engineering teams and program stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time as program needs require
