About the Role

As a Project Manager at National Equity Fund in West Loop, Chicago, you will guide and coordinate the due diligence and underwriting process for lower-tier Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions. This full-time, on-site position sits at the center of how affordable housing deals move forward, requiring strong organization, sound judgment, and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the due diligence process for lower-tier LIHTC investments from intake through closing.
  • Drive the underwriting workflow, ensuring each deal is reviewed thoroughly and progresses on schedule.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external parties to gather, organize, and verify project documentation.
  • Track milestones, identify risks, and keep transactions moving toward timely completion.
  • Support the accurate analysis of affordable housing deals in line with program guidelines and organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, underwriting, due diligence, or affordable housing finance.
  • Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) or comparable real estate finance structures is highly valuable.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in West Loop, Chicago.
