About the Role

As a Safety Associate - OCU - Technical - 1st Shift at Cummins, you will design, roll out, and oversee the programs that keep our people safe and our operations compliant. This full-time, on-site position in Columbus, Franklin County puts you at the heart of health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness efforts, working hands-on during the first shift to protect the workforce and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver targeted training that equips employees to work safely and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Create, launch, and direct health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs for the facility.
• Maintain and continually strengthen existing safety and environmental programs to keep them current and effective.
• Interpret and apply relevant health, safety, and environmental standards across day-to-day operations.
• Support emergency preparedness planning and site readiness during the first shift.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness practices.
• Experience developing and facilitating workplace training programs.
• Ability to lead and coordinate safety initiatives within a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to compliance.
• Availability to work the 1st shift on-site in Columbus, Franklin County.
