About the Role
As a Background Check Analyst at Providencia, you will own the end-to-end processing and adjudication of pre-employment and ongoing background screenings. Working on-site in El Paso, you will serve as a key resource for ensuring that every screening result is accurate, compliant, and delivered in a timely manner. What You'll Do
- Initiate, track, and complete background screening requests across criminal history, employment verification, education verification, and reference checks
- Review and adjudicate screening results in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
- Research public records, court databases, and third-party screening platforms to verify candidate information
- Document findings clearly and maintain accurate, audit-ready records for each case
- Communicate screening status and results to HR, hiring managers, and compliance personnel
- Flag discrepancies, escalate high-risk findings, and support adverse action procedures when required
- Safeguard the confidentiality and security of all sensitive personal data throughout the screening lifecycle
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience conducting or adjudicating background checks, pre-employment screening, or a related investigative or compliance function
- Working knowledge of FCRA requirements and background screening best practices
- Strong research skills with the ability to navigate public records systems and screening vendor portals
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination
- Proficiency with standard office productivity software and case management or HR systems
