Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) is hiring a full-time Administrative Coordinator to join its team in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts — on campus, in the heart of one of the country's premier research universities.

About the Role

CSSH brings together 20 academic units — two schools, eight departments, and ten interdisciplinary programs — united by Northeastern's commitment to experiential learning, rigorous liberal arts education, and community engagement at both local and global scales. As Administrative Coordinator, you'll be the operational backbone of this dynamic college, keeping people, processes, and priorities moving in sync.

What You'll Do

  • Manage complex scheduling, calendars, and meeting logistics for college leadership and faculty
  • Draft, route, and track internal and external correspondence on behalf of the college
  • Coordinate events, academic programming, and department-wide initiatives from planning through execution
  • Maintain organized records, databases, and filing systems in compliance with university policies
  • Process expense reports, purchase orders, and budget tracking documentation
  • Serve as a first point of contact for staff, students, faculty, and external partners seeking college resources
  • Support onboarding, space coordination, and general office operations across CSSH units
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other Northeastern administrative offices to ensure seamless workflows

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative, office management, or coordinator role — higher education experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace; familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., Banner, Workday, or similar) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable presence
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced academic environment
  • A collaborative, service-oriented mindset and comfort working with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations
