What You'll Do

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Social Studies instruction aligned to Indiana academic standards for high school students
• Design lessons that build critical thinking, civic literacy, and historical reasoning skills across courses such as US History, World History, Government, and Economics
• Use formative and summative assessment data to adjust instruction and support student growth
• Establish a structured, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respectful discourse and academic rigor
• Collaborate with department colleagues and interdisciplinary teams to develop curriculum and share best practices
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and school staff regarding academic progress and student well-being
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned, consistent with the expectations of a full-time high school teaching position

What We're Looking For

• Valid Indiana teaching license with a Social Studies endorsement at the secondary level (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education or a closely related field; Master's degree a plus
• Demonstrated understanding of secondary Social Studies content areas including history, geography, civics, and economics
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of high school learners
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, student-centered mindset
• Experience with educational technology and learning management systems preferred
• Commitment to fostering an equitable and culturally responsive classroom
