Assistant Teaching Professor – Supply Chain Management

The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University is seeking a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor specializing in Supply Chain Management, based on our main campus in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York, with a start date of Fall 2026.

About the Role

This is a non-tenure-track faculty position offered on a renewable three-year term. Your primary focus will be delivering high-quality instruction across Whitman's undergraduate, MBA, and MS in Supply Chain Management programs — contributing to one of the most respected business schools in the Northeast and preparing students for careers in a field that sits at the heart of global commerce.

What You'll Do

• Teach core and elective Supply Chain Management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including within the MBA and MS in Supply Chain Management curricula
• Design, update, and continuously improve course materials, syllabi, and assessments to reflect current industry practices and emerging research
• Mentor and advise students navigating academic and career decisions within supply chain, logistics, and operations management
• Collaborate with Whitman faculty and staff on program development, accreditation activities, and curriculum alignment
• Engage in service to the school and university through committee work and professional community involvement
• Maintain active engagement with supply chain industry trends to bring applied, real-world relevance into the classroom

What We're Looking For

• A doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a closely related discipline — or a terminal professional degree combined with substantial industry or teaching experience
• Demonstrated effectiveness in college-level teaching, with the ability to engage diverse student populations across undergraduate and graduate programs
• Strong command of supply chain topics such as procurement, inventory optimization, global logistics, demand planning, and operations strategy
• Experience with or enthusiasm for case-based, experiential, and technology-integrated instructional methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suited to both classroom instruction and student mentorship
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centered education
