Press Operator/ Machine Operator

Freeport Press, one of the top ten magazine and catalog printers in the United States, is hiring a full-time Press Operator/Machine Operator at its production facility in New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, full-time production role at the heart of a nationally respected print operation. As a Press Operator/Machine Operator, you'll keep high-volume presses running at peak performance — ensuring every job that leaves our floor meets the exacting quality standards our clients expect from a premier printing partner.

What You'll Do

• Set up, operate, and monitor commercial printing press equipment through complete production runs
• Load substrates, inks, and plates according to job specifications and work orders
• Calibrate press settings — registration, color density, impression pressure — to achieve target output quality
• Conduct in-line and post-run quality inspections, identifying and correcting defects before product advances
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and basic mechanical adjustments to keep equipment running efficiently
• Document production data accurately, including run speeds, waste, and downtime
• Collaborate with pressroom team members and shift supervisors to meet production schedules
• Maintain a safe and organized work area in compliance with all safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience operating printing presses or industrial production machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort troubleshooting equipment issues
• Keen eye for color accuracy, print registration, and overall quality consistency
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and technical specifications
• Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move materials throughout a full production shift
• Reliable, detail-oriented work ethic suited to a high-throughput manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work scheduled shifts in an on-site production facility — this is not a remote position
