Shift Team Leader- Manufacturing

International Paper is hiring a full-time Shift Team Leader – Manufacturing at its Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility (4600 C St. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404), a key production site serving Linn County and the broader Midwest region.

About the Role

This is a salaried position operating on a DuPont rotating 12-hour shift schedule. As a Shift Team Leader in Manufacturing, you will be the frontline authority during your shift — driving safe operations, sustaining production targets, and developing the team around you. The pay range for this position is $89,000–$130,500; final placement within that range reflects individual experience, demonstrated skills, and relevant abilities.

What You'll Do

• Direct and support a manufacturing crew throughout each shift, setting clear priorities and holding the team accountable to safety, quality, and throughput goals
• Champion a culture of workplace safety by enforcing standards, conducting observations, and addressing hazards before they escalate
• Monitor real-time production data, identify variances, and lead rapid problem-solving to keep operations on track
• Conduct thorough shift handoffs, communicating equipment status, staffing issues, and open action items to oncoming leadership
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate team members; deliver timely feedback that supports individual growth and overall crew performance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, and planning teams to resolve operational bottlenecks
• Document shift activity, incidents, and corrective actions accurately and completely
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellence goals

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
• Proven track record supervising or leading hourly production employees
• Strong safety mindset with working knowledge of OSHA regulations and plant safety systems
• Ability to analyze production metrics and drive data-informed decisions during a shift
• Effective communication and conflict-resolution skills; comfortable leading through change
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, or similar) is a plus
• Willingness and ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights and weekends
