PM Mechanic Tech (Entry Level)

Amcor is hiring a full-time PM Mechanic Tech (Entry Level) at its facility in Calico Ridge, Clark County — a hands-on opportunity to launch your maintenance career with a global leader in responsible packaging solutions.

About the Role

As an entry-level Preventive Maintenance Mechanic Technician, you will support the reliability and uptime of production equipment on the plant floor. Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, you'll carry out scheduled PM tasks, assist with basic troubleshooting, and develop the technical foundation needed to grow into a skilled industrial mechanic — all within a safety-first manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on packaging and production machinery according to established PM plans
• Inspect mechanical components — including conveyors, drive assemblies, and sealing systems — for signs of wear, misalignment, or impending failure
• Perform basic lubrication, filter changes, belt and chain adjustments, and hardware replacements as part of routine maintenance cycles
• Document completed work orders, parts used, and equipment findings accurately in the maintenance management system
• Assist senior technicians and millwrights with corrective maintenance tasks and equipment changeovers
• Follow all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and PPE requirements at all times
• Keep work areas clean and organized, and report unsafe conditions immediately

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical coursework in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is a plus
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems — including bearings, gears, belts, chains, and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, equipment manuals, or work instructions
• Comfort using common hand tools and power tools safely and correctly
• Dependability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn on the job
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment
• Team-oriented mindset with clear written and verbal communication skills
