Adjunct Faculty – Undergraduate Nursing

About the Role

This is a fast-track, part-time adjunct appointment within the nursing department at Radford University. Adjunct faculty serve a critical instructional function — stepping in to extend department capacity and deliver high-quality undergraduate nursing education when additional teaching resources are needed. Appointments are governed by an individual letter of appointment and do not carry tenure eligibility.

What You'll Do

• Deliver undergraduate nursing coursework in an online format, consistent with program curricula and accreditation standards
• Facilitate student learning through instruction, discussion, and timely, constructive feedback on assignments and assessments
• Maintain accurate grade records and communicate consistently with students throughout the course term
• Collaborate with full-time nursing faculty to ensure course content aligns with program learning outcomes
• Support student success by being responsive and accessible during the appointment period
• Uphold Radford University's academic policies and professional standards in all instructional activities

What We're Looking For

• A graduate degree in nursing (MSN or higher preferred); candidates holding a BSN with substantial clinical and teaching experience may be considered
• An active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Demonstrated clinical nursing expertise relevant to undergraduate nursing coursework
• Prior teaching, precepting, or clinical instruction experience at the college or university level is strongly preferred
• Comfort with online course delivery platforms and digital instructional tools
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to engage and support students in a virtual learning environment
