EAB is hiring a full-time Copywriter (Temporary) at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. — a hands-on writing role inside a mission-driven organization that partners with more than 2,800 educational institutions to accelerate student outcomes from kindergarten through career.
About the Role
This temporary Copywriter position sits within EAB's marketing function and supports the team's need for clear, persuasive, and on-brand written content across multiple channels. You'll work alongside marketers, designers, and subject-matter experts to turn complex education and data insights into copy that resonates with institutional leaders, enrollment professionals, and student-success practitioners.
What You'll Do
- Draft and refine copy for digital and print channels including email campaigns, landing pages, web content, and marketing collateral
- Translate research findings and data-driven insights into accessible, audience-appropriate narratives
- Develop messaging for enrollment, student success, and institutional strategy initiatives
- Partner with designers and content strategists to ensure copy integrates seamlessly with visual assets
- Edit and proofread materials to uphold EAB's editorial standards for grammar, style, and accuracy
- Adapt tone and voice for diverse audiences — from college presidents to K–12 administrators to career-services teams
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated copywriting or content-writing experience, with a portfolio that shows range and clarity
- Strong command of US grammar, usage, and style conventions
- Ability to simplify technical or research-heavy subject matter without losing accuracy
- Comfortable collaborating across teams and incorporating feedback efficiently
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control
- Experience writing for B2B, higher education, or mission-driven organizations is a plus
