RN – Medical-Surgical

About the Role

As a Medical-Surgical RN at Encompass, you will deliver direct nursing care to adult patients across a broad spectrum of diagnoses and acuity levels. This is an on-site, part-time position based in Knight, Vanderburgh County — not a remote or travel assignment.

What You'll Do

• Perform thorough patient assessments upon admission and throughout each shift, identifying changes in condition and escalating appropriately
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the broader interdisciplinary team
• Safely administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments in accordance with facility protocols
• Monitor and document vital signs, lab values, and clinical progress with accuracy and timeliness
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, discharge instructions, and self-care management
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
• Communicate clinical findings effectively during hand-off and care-transition moments

What We're Looking For

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Indiana
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Prior experience in a medical-surgical, acute care, or similar inpatient nursing environment
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously while maintaining documentation standards
• Collaborative, patient-first approach to care delivery
