Convergent Energy and Power is hiring a Senior Engineer I, Interconnection to help advance clean energy and storage projects across the United States. This is an opportunity to apply deep technical expertise to one of the most pivotal stages of grid-scale development: connecting new energy assets to the power system.
About the Role
As a Senior Engineer I, Interconnection at Convergent Energy and Power, you will guide projects through the utility interconnection process from early feasibility to energization. The position is fully remote for candidates based outside the New York Metropolitan area. If you live near New York City, a hybrid schedule with one to two days each week in the NYC office is available — and if your preferred arrangement differs, the team is open to a conversation, so don't let that hold you back from applying.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage interconnection applications and studies with utilities and grid operators throughout each project's lifecycle.
- Evaluate technical requirements, study results, and grid impacts to keep development moving forward.
- Partner with internal development, engineering, and project teams to align interconnection milestones with broader project goals.
- Identify and resolve technical and procedural hurdles that arise during the interconnection process.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated engineering experience relevant to electrical, power systems, or energy interconnection work.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting interconnection studies and technical grid data.
- Effective collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams and external utility contacts.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
