Field Geophysicist

Terracon is seeking a Field Geophysicist in Lubbock, Lubbock County, to deliver subsurface insight across geologic, groundwater, environmental, engineering, and materials testing projects. About the Role

As a Field Geophysicist with Terracon in Lubbock, you will apply a broad spectrum of geophysical methods to characterize subsurface conditions. The position combines hands-on field data collection with technical planning, allowing you to translate measurements into clear images and models that guide investigation decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply a full suite of geophysical techniques to support geologic, groundwater, environmental, engineering, and materials testing investigations.
• Conduct non-invasive surveys from the ground surface to map and interpret subsurface conditions.
• Perform geophysical logging within boreholes to generate images and models of below-ground features.
• Establish the goals of each survey and develop tailored approaches to meet them.
• Analyze collected data and interpret results to inform project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of geophysical survey methods, including surface and borehole techniques.
• Ability to design survey strategies, define objectives, and process and interpret field data.
• Strong analytical skills paired with attention to detail and clear technical communication.
• Willingness to work in field settings across project sites in the Lubbock, Lubbock County area.
